Occupation: Naval Officer and historian, taught at the Naval War College, (professor)
Position: I am all for imperialism. I want acquisition of the Philippines to happen for the benefit of the United States. I have written books and influenced power people on the issue of imperialism. Teddy Roosevelt was even influenced by some of my written works as well as John Hay and Henry Cabot Lodge.
Reasons: My main focus is to create an all powerful Navy, which will allow and keep the United States as a powerful Country in the world. To keep a Powerful navy running you need naval bases for them to travel to for supplies and coaling when needed. By allowing the United States to expand our contential lines further out, we will ultimately benefit, creating new bases for our navy. Bring new land to better our sea men of America and allow our country to benefit from an outstanding navy. Our Navy is the key to power.
